Cynthia McSwain (MS, LPCA, NCC, CCTP) is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, National Certified Counselor, who is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Certified Anger Management Treatment Professional. She specializes in adults who have experienced sexual abuse and/or sexual assault. Cynthia graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2014 with a MS in Clinical Mental Health. She has worked with clients with a diverse range of diagnosis including, but not limited to, Bipolar 1, Depression, Anxiety, Dissociate Identity Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Cynthia grew up in 7 countries and has resided in North Carolina since 2000. She advocates for the prevention, intervention and discontinuation of abuse for both humans and animals via social media, research, paintings, and public speaking. Cynthia empowers her clients with coping skills that match their style and daily schedules and has a dedication to working through the process of valuing self while healing from past and current challenges. Cynthia believes in empowerment for clients to move beyond just surviving, but so they can thrive.
